CUSTOM REPLACEMENT JAGUAR PICKUPS - VINTAGE, MODERN UPGRADES
Creamery Custom Handwound Replacement Jaguar Pickups & Upgrades
The Fender® Jaguar®, introduced in 1962 as a high-end guitar with its intricate controls never really sold as well as expected, ultimately being taken out of production in 1975 - Yet its here where the popularity really bagan to take off. Whereas the Jag originally became popular with the '60s surf sound, it was late '70 post-punk, New Wave & alternative scenes that kept the design alive. Bought cheaply 2nd hand from pawn and thrift stores they quickly became part of the leftfield, especially as the offset design appealed to those looking away from classic rock & blues music - classic Strat & Les Paul designs.
Later through US alternative, UK shoegaze, leftfield and effects laden styles of the '80s/90's onwards, through to modern day independent sounds - many bands and guitarists seem drawn to the offset Jaguar style.
I make a number of different replacement Jaguar pickup upgrades - From vintage and classic early & mid '60s bright surf sounds through mid/late '70s Post Punk & New Wave through to modern day, they're all custom made here in my Manchester workshop.
If you're looking for something to the left of classic rock & blues, welcome to my custom, handwound, replacement Jaguar Pickups.
PLEASE NOTE: All my standard 6-Pole Replacement vintage & modern Jaguar Pickup upgrades are vintage correct to US standard 51.5mm Pole spacing but I can create a custom set with alternative pole spacing if you need - Just get in touch and let me know. If you have a Squier or CIJ Jaguar your covers may have a slightly wider 52mm pole spacing - But I do have replacement covers to fit - And of course, you can still use your existing steel claws.
I have developed a specific method of wax potting my Jag pickups with the covers & claws on to really cut down on the potential for microphonics & squealing at gain or with effects & pedals etc but of course, if you'd rather not have your replaceent Jag pickups wax potted with the covers on, just let me know.

Classic/Vintage Jaguar Style Pickups
Classic '62 Jaguar
Magnets Alnico 5 Coil Wire 42AWG Lead Wire Vintage Cloth with separate ground wire for claws Bridge Output 6.4k Neck Output 5.9k Classic, Vintage, Bright, Jaguar Sounds
The early '60s sound - Replacement Jaguar Pickup Upgrades for the modern Fender & Squier versions
Based on the original Jaguar specs of the early 60s, I've created these vintage Jaguar style pickups as a direct replacement for the modern reissues and those you find in Squier Jaguar guitars. Bright, vintage sounds. Great attack & bite in the bridge with that classic, spankier voice in the neck.
Available in black, white or aged white (parchment) covers and with or without the ferrous chrome-plated metal claws attached and wax potted to stop microphonic feedback. The Jaguar neck pickup can be reverse wound, reverse polarity (RW/RP) to create a hum cancelling effect in the middle position. Comes with Vintage style cloth covered lead wires with a separate ground wire for the claws to ensure it will work n-phase with other makes & designs.
Classic '64 Jaguar
Magnets Alnico 5 Coil Wire 42AWG Lead Wire Vintage Cloth with separate ground wire for claws Bridge Output 6.8k Neck Output 6.3k Classic, Vintage, Bright, Jaguar Sounds
The Mid '60s sound - Replacement Jaguar Pickup Upgrades for the modern Fender & Squier versions
Based on the original Jaguar specs of the 60s, I've created these vintage Jaguar style pickups as a direct replacement for the modern reissues and those found in Squier Jaguar guitars. Moving to the mid' 60s with a slightly fatter attack & bite in the bridge positon and a slightly fuller spank in the neck - Essentially a slightly rounder sound compared to the earlier '62 design.
Available in black, white or aged white (parchment) covers and with or without the ferrous chrome-plated metal claws attached and wax potted to stop microphonic feedback. The Jaguar neck pickup can be reverse wound, reverse polarity RW/RP to create a hum canceling effect in the middle position. Comes with Vintage style cloth covered lead wires.

Custom/Alternative Design Jaguar Pickups
'Extra Width' Jaguar
Magnets Alnico 5 Coil Wire 42AWG Lead Wire Vintage Cloth with separate ground wire for claws Bridge Output 7.5k Neck Output 6.7k Fatter, Fuller, Warmer Jaguar Sounds
A warmer, rounder take on the classic '60s Jaguar sounds
My rounder sounding version of the classic Jaguar pickup. I've created these Jaguar pickups as a direct upgrade & replacement for the modern reissues and those found in the Fender Squier range. A slightly less vintage, less vintage more modern hotter output and custom coil gives a fuller, fatter range of sounds yet I've designed these to keep the clarity & definition without losing classic Jaguar characteristics.
A great attacking, fatter bridge pickup with a sweeter, warmer voice in the neck.
Alt '88 Jaguar - Mid-Range
Magnets Alnico 2 or 5 Coil Wire 43AWG Lead Wire Vintage Cloth with separate ground wire for claws Bridge Output 10.3k Neck Output 9.4k Alt '88 Jaguar Pickup - Loud, Quiet, Loud
Fatter, Fuller with more mid-range. Designed for more modern Indie/Alternative styles & sounds
The Alt '88 pickup was inspired by the alternative music scene of the mid-to-late '80s and after feedback from Jaguar players the design has now been split into two distinct versions. Whereas the "Alt '88 - Treble" uses thicker 42awg coil wire and taller, stronger rod magnets for a brighter, more cutting sound, the "Alt '88 - Mid-Range" uses the same taller, stronger rod magnets but is wound with thinner 43awg coil wire for a fatter, fuller, more mid-range voice. Both have been designed to have similar, higher, more powerful outputs - the difference comes from how they're voiced.
With less in the higher frequencies the "Alt '88 - Mid-Range" sits in the band mix better, not as dominant as the 'Treble' version, a little sweeter, less brittle, a little fuller, a little darker - the more melancholy side to its brash alternative.
Alt '88 Jaguar Pickup - Magnet Choices
With magnets, Alnico 2 is that bit weaker so ‘holds’ the strings a little less, allowing them to vibrate that little more to add a little more warmth & resonance to the overall sound. Alnico 5 is slightly stronger so therefore ‘holds’ the strings that little more for slightly more attack, focus, brightness and a little increased output. Magnets don’t have ‘tone’ but they do have strength to varying degrees which has an effect on the overall sound, all other things being equal. Alnico 2 can be great to tame a bright bridge sound whereas a stronger magnet can help to keep clarity & definition in the naturally darker neck position.
The Alt '88 range has been a real labour of love and these pickups and have gone through numerous changes before launch just to get them right. A great Jaguar rhythm or lead pickup if you want more bite with more of an an alternative/left field sound. The Alt '88 Jaguar Neck can also be RW/RP if required.
Alt '88 Jaguar - Treble
Magnets Alnico 2 or 5 Coil Wire 42AWG Lead Wire Vintage Cloth with separate ground wire for claws Bridge Output 8.4k Neck Output 7.5k Alt '88 Jaguar Pickup Treble - Loud, Quiet, Loud
Brighter, Attacking, Aggressive Jaguar Pickup. Designed for more modern Indie/Alternative styles & sounds

Jaguar Dark Line
Magnets Custom Alnico 5 Duo Coil Wire 43AWG Lead Wire Vintage Cloth with separate ground wire for claws Bridge Output 11.4k Neck Output 9.7k Punk, Post Punk & Alternative Styles
Dirtier, Grittier, Alternative Jag Sounds
I designed these after conversations with Jag players who wanted something modern, darker, grittier, something more savage & physical from their Jaguars, but keeping a tight, razor focus to really cut through the band mix - Not a traditional rock, indie or blues sound, something much more aggressive & visceral.
Essentially the idea was to design a raw, more primal sounding pickup to work with the existing Jag wiring for pure, modern alternative sounds and styles of playing. Much tighter, much more focussed sounds than my Sonic '60s - darker, fatter, grittier than my Alt '88s - the 'Dark Lines' were designed specifically to play loud - For alternative & left field playing.
A single plated steel blade sits at the heart of the design inside a much more tightly scatterwound coil of thinner 43awg coil wire, and I experimented with a variety of magnet grades and sizes until finally working on a duo of custom made, square bar Alnico 5s.
Available in a stark black or white open face design, the new Jaguar Dark Line pickups are direct drop-in replacements, designed to turn that Fender or Squier Jag into a much more powerful guitar - I spent a long time getting the design of these just right, putting them aside, coming back to them - They had to be right.
Jaguar Red '79
Magnets Custom Alnico 5 Coil Wire 42AWG Lead Wire Vintage Cloth with separate ground wire for claws Bridge Output 5.8k Neck Output 5.3k Red '79 - '70s Inspired Jag Pickup
A brighter, attacking late '70s Post-Punk / New Wave inspired Pickup
Custom Designed, Bright, Lower Output, Brittle but without that 'Ice-Pick' sound. Inspired by the New Wave/Post Punk era of the late '70s & early '80s, the Red '79 Jaguar Pickup has that brittle, bright attack associated with much of the music of that era - Think Gang of Four, Early Talking Heads etc.
The lower in output, 42AWG coil wrapped around Custom Alnico 5 magnets gives you that cutting voice that sounds great with effects (a little phase, a little chorus ;-). As with the Telecaster & Strat Red '79s, I settled on the final designs (after many versions) to create a pickup that has that bright, brittle, fractured sound without the ice-pick shrillness of thin, lower wound pickups. To achieve this the coil is wound slightly shorter with a looser scatterwound pattern to achieve the balance I was looking for.
Its a lower output pickup really designed for that dry, chopped, attacking rhythm playing but works equally well with pedals & effects to really cut through the band mix.
NOTE: If Red really isn't your thing you can always order it in White or Black vintage String or standard Jaguar covers as well ;-)
Skinny 'Scooped Mids' Jaguar
Magnets Custom Alnico 5 Coil Wire Thicker 41AWG Lead Wire Vintage Cloth with separate ground wire for claws Bridge Output 5.3k Neck Output 4.8k Classic, Clear, Hollow Sounds
Tight, Snappy with Clean Highs and a Tight Bass Response
A custom designed replacement Jaguar pickup with the classic bright, hollow sounds - tight, snappy with clean highs, a tight bass response and with the added, custom feature of more of the classic Scooped, Hollow & Woody Mid-Range.
There are a couple of different ways to achieve the unique 'Scooped Mids' sound from custom magnet design to specific winding patterns and I've tried and tested a number of different designs & prototypes to create a unique Scooped sound I was happy with, finally settling on this custom design of thicker 41AWG plain Enamel wire with a custom scatterwound pattern around a custom set of taller/stronger Alnico 5 magnets.
The thicker coil wire gives a seemingly low output but don't let that fool you into thinking these pickups don't work as hard as the more classic Jag pickups. Although seemingly much lower in output, they're on a par with my vintage spec Jag p/ups in terms of brightness and output, they just have that added distinction of more glassy, clean, hollow scooped mids sound.
Custom Handwound Skinny 'Scooped-Mids' Jaguar Pickups
For me, the sightly thicker 41AWG coil wire helps to emphasise the naturally 'scooped' sound of those late '60s, lower output Jag Pickups whilst keeping the perceived 'volume' or 'loudness' at similar levels. The winding pattern and magnets I use help to stress this even more. I know there a few other people making similar scooped Strat pickups using different designs but for me, and ultimately it is a personal thing, I settled on this final design after much testing and prototyping
My own take on the Big Dipper 'Scooped Mids' Strat Pickups but for a Jaguar
Essentially the Fender® Big Dipper Custom Pickups are strong Alnico 5 Lower Output pickups which give you that great hollow sound, I've just tweaked the specifications to emphasise this woody, hollow 'scooped' sound by a different design for a little more unique voicing.
Vintage style cloth covered lead wire, a great pickup to play clean, funk or more alternative cutting styles - the sound can be rounded out a little by rolling back on the tone pot.
NOTE: Due to the nature of Jag Bridge pickups in general, The Skinny 'Scooped Mids' Jaguar Bridge is a very dry, cutting, bright pickup and I personally like to use one of my Classic '62 or '64 instead in this naturally bright bridge position but I do know many do like the more brittle, bright scooped sound here - Its a personal thing really, just thought I'd mention my own preference. If you'd like this bridge option instead, just leave me a note at the checkout stage (or email me) and I'll know to make it a custom order for you.
The Neck Pickup can be RW/RP for hum cancelling in the middle position.
Jag-90 Jaguar
Magnets Alnico 5 Coil Wire 43AWG Lead Wire Vintage Cloth with separate ground wire for claws Bridge Output 10.3k Neck Output 8.7k Jag-90, Jaguar Sized P90 Design
Fatter, Grittier Jaguar Pickup - Jag Version of the Classic P90 Design
With its six adjustable pole pieces and dual magnet design, the new Jaguar Sized P90 pickup is great if you're after that fat single coil P90 sound. Due to its design of dual bar magnets and pole screws, the sound is warmer & fatter than a standard Jaguar pickup. In the middle position you'll still get the classic crunchier sound, just a fatter, more rounded version. Great for a more attacking, grittier style of playing.
As the geometry of the Jag-90 pickup differs from a standard P90 in terms of width of coil, the sound will be a little brighter but still with the warmth and fatter single coil voice you'd expect from a P90 design. I've designed the P90 Jaguar pickup with custom magnets to let the strings vibrate a little more adding to the warmth in the sound. The adjustable poles allow you to match the your neck radius for better string balance.
The Bridge can made with regular Alnico 5 magnets or a thicker/stronger set for a much fuller sound - Due to the taller nature of this option, the cavity shielding ground lug (in MIM & Squier Jags) usually found screwed into the wood underneath the pickup would need to be re-positioned just a little further away in the wire channel. Its a very simple process, just unscrewing and re-screwing - simple as that.
I've custom designed the bobbins so the pickups will fit standard Jaguar pickup covers and the Neck Jaguar P90 Pickup can be RW/RP for hum cancelling in the middle position.

Sonic '60 Jaguar Pickups
Sonic '60 for Jaguar
Magnets Alnico 2, 5 or Ceramic Coil Wire 42AWG Lead Wire Vintage Cloth Bridge Output 7.2k Neck Output 6.3k Richer, Sweet, Focussed Jag Sounds
Based on the old classic Burns Tri-Sonic® design
With handwound coils pressed around the custom magnets and wax potted in a combination of paraffin & beeswax, my new Creamery Sonic '60 Jaguar replacement pickups give that richer, musical sound synonymous with the old classic Burns Tri-Sonic® design.
Unlike the larger originals, my Sonic '60 Jag pickups have been designed to fit a standard scratchplate & body cavity but with outputs of 7.2k & 6.3k respectively - they've been designed to balance the old vintage sounds with a modern spin for a richer, warmer, more rounded, musical sound than a standard Jaguar pickup set.
With a choice of magnets, you can choose to have a warmer or brighter version. Alnico 2 'holds' the strings a little less, allowing them to vibrate a little more freely giving a perceived slightly warmer, more resonant sound.
Ceramic, being stronger, holds the strings a little more giving a slightly more attacking, slightly brighter, more focussed, less richer sound.
Alnico 5 offers a slightly brighter, more attacking characteristic than Alnico 2 but a little more rounded than the ceramic option.
True Chrome Plated Jag Covers
Wanting these pickups to be something special I've had custom chrome plated Jag covers manufactured. These aren't plastic covers, they're very thin brass that I've had chrome plated. I've also designed them with the Tri-Sonic® style oversize holes and more rounded/rolled edge covers.
They do look good, especially with the classic Jaguar chrome control plates.
Sonic '60 'Mid-Range' for Jaguar
Magnets Alnico 5 or Alnico 8 Coil Wire 43AWG Lead Wire Vintage Cloth Bridge Output 11.4k Neck Output 9.7k Richer, Fuller, Fatter - Dirtier Jag Sounds
Based on the old classic Burns Tri-Sonic® design
With handwound coils pressed around the custom designed magnets and wax potted in a combination of paraffin & beeswax, the Sonic '60 'Mid-Range' Jaguar replacement pickups give that richer, musical sound synonymous with the old classic Burns Tri-Sonic® design but in a new fatter, fuller, dirtier & grittier sound with more emphasis on the mid-range.
I designed these after feedback from Jag players who loved the brighter standard Sonic '60s I made for them but wanted a fatter, hotter, more mid-range version in their 2nd Jag to compliment - Not everyone has two Jags so if you're looking for more mid-range to your sound, and want something a little different, an alternative to the classic bright Jaguar pickup, then maybe the new Sonic '60 'Mid-Range' pickups could be for you.
Whereas the standard Sonic '60s are wound with thicker 42awg coil wire and are available in a variety of Alnico magnet choices, I spent a long time on the new 'Mid-Range' 43awg versions and concluded, after much testing, that the stronger Alnico 5 and Alnico 8 versions worked best. You can choose either based on your own preference, Alnico 8 being the strongest with a little more output and more cooler focus whereas the slightly weaker Alnico 5 is that little bit sweeter but with slightly less attack.
True Chrome Plated Jag Covers
Wanting these pickups to be something special I've had custom chrome plated Jag covers manufactured. These aren't plastic covers, they're very thin brass that I've had custom tooled and chrome plated. I've also designed them with the Tri-Sonic® style oversize holes and more rounded/rolled edge covers for a unique Jaguar look.
They do look good, especially with the classic aguar chrome control plates.

Twin Sound / Coil Tap Jaguar Pickups
Sonic '60 'Twin Sound' Jaguar
Magnets Alnico 2 or 5 Coil Wire 42AWG & 43AWG Lead Wire Vintage Cloth with Separate Ground Wire for Claw Bridge Output (7.3k) 10.4k Neck Output (6.4k) 9.5k Twin Sound' Sonic '60s in One Coil-Tapped Jaguar Pickup
Classic, bright inner coil - fatter, fuller, hotter with the added outer coil
Scatterwound inner coil with a tightly wound outer coil pressed around the custom designed magnets and wax potted in a combination of paraffin & beeswax, the Sonic '60 'Twin Sound' pickups for Jaguar give the two distinct Sonic '60 voices in one replacement Jag pickup set.
With simple push/pull pots (or my preferred push/push pots) you can have the bright Sonic'60 'Treble' sounds - then with simple switching you have a fatter, fuller, rounder, more mid-range sound with a higher output for a more versatile guitar to cover a wider range of styles.
The idea came when collaborating with a well-known Jaguar guitarist on a completely new, custom design - working on a new switching system to allow push/push pots to combine a classic bright Jag sound with the fatter, fuller, stronger alternative Jag sounds with more mid-range that he wanted for studio & live work. I took this idea to the Sonic '60 range for a new coil-tapped design.
Concentric Coils
Not everyone has two Jags so if you're looking for more modern versatility and a wider palette of sounds, from bright to mid-range - then maybe the new 'Twin-Sound' range is for you. With two concentric coils, the inner is wound with standard 42awg coil wire to give you the bright, rich, single coil Sonic '60 'Treble' sound whereas the outer coil is wound with thinner 43awg to add more mid-range and change the overall sound to a fatter, fuller, warmer voice with a noticeably higher output to push more - So with the flick of a switch or push of the pot you can suddenly drive & push the sound more.
Available in Alnico 2 for a slightly warmer overall sound or Alnico 5 for a slightly clearer, more defined, attacking sound, I spent a long time getting these new 'Twin Sound' coil tap Sonic '60 pickups just right. Alnico 2 works well for the bridge but with the naturally darker neck position, I tend to prefer the stronger ALncio 5.
Please Note: These aren't hum-cancelling pickups, they have 2 coils in a concentric/coaxial design.
Push/Pull - Push/Push Pots
I've designed these to work well with 500k push/push or push/pull pots - 1 meg versions are available but due to the design and custom magnets I've had manufactured, and after extensive testing, I just preferred the 500k versions. Use one for the volume & one for the tone - that way the coil taps work separately for bridge & neck giving you a wider range of sounds.
Alt '88 'Twin Sound' Jaguar
Magnets Alnico 2 or 5 Coil Wire 42AWG & 44AWG Lead Wire Vintage Cloth with Separate Ground Wire for Claw Bridge Output (8.4k) 11.6k Neck Output (7.5k) 10.5k Twin Sound Alt '88 Pickups in One Coil-Tapped Jaguar Design
Classic, bright inner coil - fatter, fuller, hotter with the added outer coil
Loud, Quiet, Loud - Attacking, Aggressive Jaguar Pickup. Designed for more modern Indie/Alternative styles & sounds. Now in a 'Twin Sound' Coil Tapped Design
With simple push/pull pots (or my preferred push/push pots) you can have the bright Sonic'60 'Treble' sounds - then with simple switching you have a fatter, fuller, rounder, more mid-range sound with a higher output for a more versatile guitar to cover a wider range of styles.
Scatterwound inner coil with a tightly wound outer coil pressed around the custom designed magnets and wax potted in a combination of paraffin & beeswax, the Alt '88 'Twin Sound' pickups for Jaguar give the two distinct voices for indie/alternative playing in one replacement Jag pickup. With simple push/pull pots (or my preferred push/push pots) you can have the brighter, more abrasive Alt '88 'Treble' sounds - then with simple switching you have a fatter, fuller, rounder, more mid-range version with a higher output for a more versatile guitar.

With two concentric coils, the inner is wound with standard 42awg coil wire to give you the bright, rich, single coil Alt '88 'Treble' sound whereas the outer coil is wound with much thinner 44awg to add more mid-range and change the overall sound to a much fatter, fuller, warmer voice with a noticeably higher output to push more - So with the flick of a switch or push of the pot you can suddenly drive & push the sound more.
Available in Alnico 2 for a slightly warmer overall sound or Alnico 5 for a slightly clearer, more defined, attacking sound, I spent a long time getting these new 'Twin Sound' coil tap Alt '88 pickups just right. Bass VI Jaguar Pickups
Replacement Bass VI Jaguar Set - Solo
Magnets Alnico 5 & Custom Options Coil Wire 42AWG Lead Wire Vintage Cloth Bridge Output 8.4k Middle Output 7.8k Neck Output 7.5k Jaguar Bass VI solo & lead line player pickups
Fatter, fuller sounds but not straying too far into the Mid-Range
I designed these after requests for Jag Bass VI pickups who play solos & lead lines, wanting a fatter, fuller sound whilst keeping it from straying too far into the Mid-Range - but held off pushing them live until they went through solid testing - a higher output than standard, calibrated & balanced pickup set that gave great attack whilst still keeping clarity, definition and without losing the characteristics needed for bass playing, especially for those who play lead lines on the higher strings.
Tight Bass, Defined Lead - More Punch, More Attack
I tried a number of different methods before signing off the final designs, using my own Bass VI as a test guitar, finally deciding on using custom made taller & stronger Alnico 5 magnets with different geometry to the coil than a standard Jaguar pickup to balance great low-end with clear, defined lead line sounds for the higher strings
The replacement Jaguar Bass VI pickups are scatterwound here in my workshop before being wax potted for a specific time in a combination of paraffin & beeswax.
Custom Versions
Although I chose Alnico 5 magnets for my standard replacement Bass VI set I've discussed variations with a good few Bass VI players and do make purely custom versions. If you'd like to chat about a custom designed set with different magnet choices, just get in touch. Also, if you'd like to buy them as a single bridge, middle or neck, just drop me an email and we can work on the best design for you to balance well with your existing setup.
Available in black, white or aged white covers and with or without the ferrous chrome-plated metal claws attached and wax potted to stop microphonic feedback. The Jaguar Bass VI middle pickup can be reverse wound, reverse polarity RW/RP to create a hum canceling effect in th emiddle position. Comes with Vintage style cloth covered lead wires.
Replacement Bass VI Jaguar Set - Mid-Range
Magnets Alnico 5 & Custom Options Coil Wire 43AWG Lead Wire Vintage Cloth Bridge Output 11.6k Middle Output 10.4k Neck Output 9.5k Fatter, Fuller Jaguar Bass VI pickups
Designed specifically for the needs of the Jag Bass VI - both in the Low End and Mid-Range
I designed these after many requests for Jag Bass VI pickups that had a fatter, fuller, more mid-range sound but held off pushing them live until they went through solid testing - a higher output, calibrated & balanced pickup set that gave great attack whilst still keeping clarity, definition and just more in the Mids & Bass frequencies.
More Bass, More Mid Range
I tried a number of different methods before signing off the final designs, using my own Bass VI as a test guitar, finally deciding on using thinner 43awg coil wire and custom made taller & stronger Alnico 5 magnets with different geometry to the coil than a standard Jaguar pickup to balance great low-end with clear, defined mids whilst still holding onto some of the higher frequencies.
The replacement Jaguar Bass VI pickups are scatterwound here in my workshop before being wax potted for a specific time in a combination of paraffin & beeswax.

Sonic '60 for Bass VI
Magnets Alnico 2 or 5 Coil Wire 42AWG Lead Wire Vintage Cloth Bridge Output 7.2k Middle Output 6.6k Neck Output 6.3k Richer, Sweeter Jaguar Bass VI pickups
Based on the old classic Burns Tri-Sonic® design
With handwound coils pressed around the custom magnets and wax potted in a combination of paraffin & beeswax, my new Creamery Sonic '60 Jaguar replacement pickups give that richer, musical sound synonimous with the old classic Burns Tri-Sonic® design.
Geometry dictates they won't sound identical to the old 60s classics as the pickups are smaller (standard Jaguar size) and I use my custom made thinner magnets inside the pressed coil, but they're designed & tested to be richer, sweeter and more rounded than standard Jag pickups.
Designed to fit a standard Jaguar guitar with no modifications needed

The presence of the instrument is total in the room. And good punch. And so much less noise. In the 2nd position it's total silence. Can't wait to record with it this weekend.
Thank you so much!
UPDATE: Now I have lived and played and recorded a bit with the new pickups. I have recorded both in my own studio and in studios around Stockholm. And I left the bass at my friend Pär Wiksten's (of the Wannadies) studio because he just would not let it go :) They sound absolutely great. And as soon as the album Pär is currently working on is out I'll send you a link to the songs the pickups are featured on.
Well all in all I'm very happy with the pickups I got from you. Thank you very much.
The Jag-pickups are sounding amaaaaaazing!
Hey Jaime, Got my jag alt '88s all wired up and it was exactly what I was looking for! Captures the jaguar sound but with some extra heat. I was also pleasantly surprised with all the output how dead quiet the pickups are. Plays with my effects well and gives me a wider range on tap playing with my guitar's volume knob. My JM jag's series position even creeps into Les Paul territory. Great job!
Sounds Amazing !
Thank you Jaime. I got them all wired up and installed. They sound AMAZING. I am very happy with them, cheers from California!
My jaguar pickups arrived this week and they're sounding great.
You did an excellent job there.
The balanced set make a massive improvement over the factory set on my Squier VM Bass VI and the bridge pickup, in particular, is much more usable now for lead parts, either on its own or in combinations. With the factory set, it was impossible to adjust the pickup heights sufficiently to achieve a balanced output across all three pickups.
For lead parts with the tone knob turned up, they sound more like an early 60's set so you can easily channel your inner Jet Harris with confidence. For bass parts, they are equally at home and provide more output than the factory set. I would recommend this set for anyone wanting to upgrade or replace their Bass VI pickups.
Many Thanks,
They sound brilliant!
Thanks for the pickups they sound great!
G'day Jaime, Finally installed the pickups, and, my gosh, you've surpassed yourself!
These are everything I would have wanted the Bareknuckles in my J Marr to be. Unfortunately, I don't mess with signature guitars (for the resale value) otherwise I would have replaced them.
As it stands, I'll likely be selling off the J Marr Jag and keeping the Jag that now has your pickups (and a Mastery bridge.) These clearly have what I have come to view as the Creamery trademark sound: chiming, shimmering and, with gain turned up, attitude, with just enough harmonics to make things interesting. The fact that they look good with the chromed covers doesn't hurt things either.
Hi, Just thought I'd drop you a line to say that I (finally) got round to fitting the Jag pickups I ordered from you, and they're excellent: turned my Jag into a really useable instrument that sounds great. Big improvement on the stock pickups.
Thanks,
The Alt ’88 has both enough twang and a hell of a lot punch and attack. I Love it! It really brought the guitar back to life. Again I love it.
Truly a new fan!
Hi, Finally got the pickups soldered in. Sound great, as per your usual.
Cheers,
Hi Jaime, love the Alt 88 pickups I got from you last year, they're great!
Hi Jaime ,just to say I received my Alt 88 pickups on Friday and installed them in my jag today, They sound fantastic!better than I could have hoped for.
Hiya Jaime, I just got my guitars back a couple of days ago with the new pickups. They're a MASSIVE improvement in every way! Both sets are fuller, louder and more responsive, just a great set of pickups!
Hi Jaime, I forgot to send you and email when i received the pickups.
They are absolutely fantastic. I'm running the Jaguar through an Orange OR15 and it sounds great. Really alive!
Thanks!
I must say the pickups sound fantastic - noticeably more meaty while still retaining that classic jaguar sound (in all positions). I play an early 60s jag but never had the original pickups, so I've been through quite a few different combinations over the years...thanks to you I've finally found the sound I was looking for!
Hi jaime just got my jag back after putting in the creamery's alt 88 in the neck and the creamery's extra width in the bridge with 2 volume controls and a tone capacitor on it and excuse my french but it sounds f@$cking awsome thanks again for your advice and great service now on to the next project.
Thanks Jaime. Every time I pickup my Jag is a rebirth for me since my Alt '88s
Thank you!
These pick ups are fantastic everything i wanted and more. Well worth the money. Will recommend you to others.
Many thanks
I got the wide rangers into my jazzmaster and the alt 88s into my jag..... WOW!
The jazzmaster sound is much more muscular,a solid resonant bottom and mids with a really creamy chime to the highs, absolutely no icepickiness.. I havent adjusted the pole pieces and cant see why i would. Open chords sound like im playing into a unison effect. Its the Malkmus Pavement sound. Love it!
The alt 88s make my jag sound like I would have expected a fender jaguar to sound, warm, twangy, wet, glassy, chimey. Before I swapped the pickups in my guitars there wasnt to much of a tonal difference between them other than their respective outputs. Now they both have very distinct tonal characteristics. Cant wait to get the broadcasters. Have a good one
Hi Jaime,
I've been meaning to e-mail for a while, really just to say how pleased I am with the pickups for my Jaguar. The pickups really have saved this guitar from being left in the corner or worst, sold and never seen again! Currently running through a Fender Blues Deluxe with Fulltone OCD pedal, this guitar now sounds the business - really impressed with the warmth, depth and those subtle 'extra' tones that come through on a sweep. One of my friends has always been sceptical of Jaguars and in particular was never impressed with my one until now - the Creamery Pickups have definitely converted him!
I'm now looking at my stock Gibson SG standard now and the cogs are turning... no doubt I'll be in touch again soon!
Thanks again,
Hi Jaime, The pickup has arrived and is installed !
Great sound , thank you. Very pleased to have dealt with you!
Regards,
Hi Jaime, Just installed the Sonics in my Fender Hollowbody Jaguar and they are fantastic! Dynamic & Articulate with wide, sweet harmonics. I was on the verge of selling the guitar because no matter what pickups I put in it, it just never spoke to me. Now it sounds great!
Thank you very much!
Hi Jaime, I've been using your alt. 88 Jag pickup now for almost two years, and they are awesome. Since the pickup swap I've been in love with the sonic sounds my Jap Jaguar produces, it's has that mellow growl I've been looking for in my guitar sound. So thanks again for this dream come true.
